Low-Profile Steel / Hazy Film Configuration: Low steelk insert rings are the latest imporvement accomodating all models of timpani drums. They are twice as thick as standard steel insert rings offering more rigidity and strength to the flesh hoop and making it easier to tune the drum - leveling it off as well as impproving the projection. This low steel insert ring is anodized preventing any rust for the life of the head.
